Signaids, a Canada- based company has developed an inclusive communication system that allows people with disabilities define how they like to receive the information on visual signs or advertisements.
By incorporating a contact point on a poster, sign or advertisement the content is communicated to the user through a smartphone device. Users only need to pass their device over the contact point, and the information is immediately transferred to the handheld device. Users will be able to define the information according to their preferences.
These include text to speech translation into 40+ languages, visual text display in 60+ languages, and font size and contrast settings. Contact points include tactile marks to allow blind persons to identify them.
